I tend to have trouble listing out upcoming releases I’m looking forward to because I don’t really buy new release books. So I extending it out from the first half to the entire year, and still only came up with 7.
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo – Releases Jan 29th: The first book in the Nikolai duology set in the Grishaverse!
Courting Darkness by Robin Lafevers – Releases Feb. 5th: A new duology set in the same universe as her His Fair Assassin series!
The Haunting of Tram Car 015 by P. Djeli Clark – Releases Feb. 19th: A alternate history novella where Cairo is home to both humans and otherworldly beings.
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern – Releases Nov. 9th: This is from the author of The Night Circus, one of my favorites.
Master & Apprentice by Claudia Gray – Releases April 18th: Another Claudia Gray SW novel! That alone is exciting but add in Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and it’s an automatic instabuy.
Queen’s Shadow by E.K. Johnston – Releases March 5th: This centers on Padme as she transitions from Queen to Senator.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Illustrated Edition – Releases Oct. 8th: This one is going to be massive and I’m absolutely here for it.
I’m kinda excited for the LaFevers book, even though I’ve only read the first of His Fair Assassin books- this might be motivation to get back to those.
*whispers* I haven’t read the third book in the Fair Assassin series. I plan to, I’m just really bad with finishing series. A reread of the first two might be in order.
I’ve been seeing The Starless Sea everywhere, and that’s just so exciting to see so many getting excited over it! King of Scars is a must read for me (mainly because of Nikolai). These books look marvellous, and I especially can’t wait for the illustrated Goblet of Fire. I agree that it will be massive and wonderfully gorgeous!
It should be a good year for releases! I’m excited to see Nikolai in King of Scars, he was one of my favorite characters in the main trilogy.
Queen’s Shadow sounds really good! I can hardly wait for Goblet of Fire. There’s no way it’s not going to cost more. Ha ha. ⚡
