Tell Me Tuesday #85

I’m doing horribly on my reading this month, but I actually feel like tackling a few things this week so I am taking advantage of it while it lasts.

Catalyst by James Luceno – 4 Stars ✬✬✬✬ – This takes place several years before the Rogue One movie and follows Galen Erso, Jyn’s father. It provides some much need background info on Galen’s research, his relationship with Jyn, and his connection to Krennic.

The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin – 4 Stars ✬✬✬✬ – This was my book club’s pick for October/November  It took some getting used to, as it has a 2nd Person perspective in it, but after I got used to it the pages flew by! The audio is excellent as well.

Rebel Rising by Beth Revis – 4 Stars ✬✬✬✬- This is another one that takes place before Rogue One, covering Jyn’s life after she is separated from her family and taken in by Saw. This is pretty solid and shows the complicated relationship she has with Saw, the rebellion, and with the memory of her father.

The Dead Zone by Stephen King – This was the Losers Club pick two months ago…and I haven’t even gotten past page one. I’m honestly bored with King’s work. Much of what I have read so far is decent. They are not particularly well written, at least not in a way that if I didn’t know the titles or author’s name  would make me peg this on someone with the same acclaim he has. I’m just indifferent and unfortunately it’s making me fall behind. I want to read Firestarter, which is the next one I’m behind on, so I’m just trying to get to it.

Inklin by Kenneth Oppel – This is a review book that I need to get to. It’s MG about a ink blob that comes to life to help a boy with his family troubles and with his art.

The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud – Still reading this one as well.

  1. I have been seeing the Jemisin booksvall over the place. If Hoopla has them, I might give them a try. 👍✨

    Inkling looks adorable. 😊
