I keep forgetting to actually schedule this post! So I’m sneaking it in between two are published one, because I totally didn’t forget and have all of my stuff in order. Also, WordPress updated it’s post editor, so please excuse any odd formatting issues. I’m trying to find everything again.
Animosity Vol. 1 & 2 – This is a graphic novel that follows a young girl and her dog, as they navigate a world where animals have very suddenly gained human levels of sentience. I really enjoyed it, even if there are instances of things that just don’t make sense.
All The Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders – I DNFed this book back in 2016 because I hated it so much. Well this turned out to be a pick for one of my Litsy groups, and since I had to annotate it I couldn’t just skip reading it. I still hate it, but it’s no longer a DNF.
Rosewater by Tade Thompson – This was an interesting sci-fi read, but the odd use of timelines and a somewhat unlikable main character being the viewpoint made this one a bit hard to follow at times. I might try out the second book when it comesout though.
Catalyst by James Luceno – I’m two books behind on my Star Wars Buddy read so I’m trying to quickly make it through the Rogue One books. This one adds some really great depth to Krennic and the Erso family that the movie didn’t have a lot of time for.
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin – This is my book club’s pick for October & November, and so far it’s quite interesting. It has 2nd person POV chapters, which is really odd but I kind of like it.
The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud – I’m behind on everything these days, so I’m still reading the second book in the Bartimaeus trilogy despite the original reading group being on book three. Still I’m enjoying it and glad I finally took the time for them.
