Sunday Post #318

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Happy Sunday! The 24 hr readathon was yesterday (well until 8am here) and I didn’t get as much finished as I had hoped…it wasn’t a good day for it apparently. I can read with noise around me, but not constant noise and I need quiet during the day to feel centered..which unfortunately was Saturday for me. I think this is why you’ll never hear me truly complain about having a flipped internal clock, I love the night time and the solitude it provides. I will complain about having to get up before noon though. Kim’s very own Fraterfest ended last week as well and I got more reading done during that, so luckily the whole week wasn’t a bust.

My week was…uneventful I think, seeing as I can’t remember it at all. I hope everyone’s weekend is treating them well.

Books Read

  • Toil & Trouble: 15 Tales of Woman & Witchcraft
  • California Demon by Julie Kenner
  • Ten Thousand Thunders by Brian Trent
  • The Long Walk by Stephen King (Richard Bachman)
  • The Werewolf of Fever Swamp by R.L. Stine
  • The Ghost Next Door by R.L. Stine

Last Week

  1. I don’t have the patience for a 24-hour readathon. I like to float around between activities too much but I’m always curious about them everytime I see them crop up. I think it would be very much a mood thing…
Fraterfest looked so much fun! Glad it went well for you.
    Have a good week!

I think a lot of book bloggers have that flipped internal switch for some reason- I know I operate better at night, seems like, and I’ve heard others say that too. And sleeping til noon *nods* 🙂

I did FraterFest but unfortunately only got through one(!) book- it wasn’t a good readathon for me timewise, but I did manage to hit some of the challenges, and they were fun.

    Have a great weekend Michelle!

  3. I’m more of a morning person myself. I like to get up early and work on my blog then. But I do love to read in the evenings.. As a result I often don’t get a lot of sleep. Combine that with a 11 week old baby girl and I’m your modern version of a Zombie. LOL!! I love it though.
The only Readathon I ever did was the HOHOHO RAT. I’m participating again this year. But I never do get a lot of reading done. I hope this time will be better.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  4. Sorry you had a tough time with the Dewey Readathon. But at least you did well with Fraterfest! I wanted to do Dewey; I even signed up. But in the end, I had too much other stuff going on, including work that’s due. So I only read about 20 minutes… not as much as a normal day for me, let alone a readathon day. Oh, well, maybe next time.

Have a great week, and I hope you get a quiet day soon, to recharge.

I am nocturnal too. But these days I have to get up before 8 am due to other work, making my sleep schedule totally haywire.

  6. Sorry you had a rough time with the readathon, but there’s always next year, right? I can’t handle doing a 24-hour readathon (plus I’m working usually for readathons). I’m a very nocturnal person – I operate at night and sleep way too much. Good thing I’m not the only one! (It sucks during the school year because I have to wake up super early.)

  7. I tried 24 hour read-a-thon and failed miserably. LOL

  8. Amber Elise @ Du Livre says:

Did you like Toil and Trouble? I think I had higher expectations. Great job with the readathon!

An uneventful week sounds amazing! I’m glad you got some great reading time. I like to read every day before I go to sleep for an hour or so but sometimes, like last night, since I knew I had today off, I finished the book around 2 am! Enjoy your reading week! Anne – Books of My Heart

The Long Walk is one of my favorite King stories. I wish I had the time to do a 24 hour readathon. I just know too many things would get in my way. Hope you have a good week!
