Tell Me Tuesday #74

Hosted by La La in the Library

  • Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine – The publisher gave me the first and fourth book in this series, so I am working on a bit of a binge read of the series. This one was quite good! I love anything Library of Alexandria related, and I enjoyed seeing this sort of odd dystopian world where the library isn’t exactly the upstanding place we hold it to.
  • Delicious in Dungeon Vol. 1 – I re-read this one after I purchased my own copy of it and the next two volumes. It’s so much fun! If you enjoy anime/manga with a food focus and/or with an MMO type of gaming feel to it, then it’s worth checking out. I’m looking forward to seeing how these characters handle delving into the dungeon with no supplies and what kind of character development occurs.
  • The Voices of a Distant Star – Another manga for the month and this one is a one-volume standalone. I watched the OVA (sort of a movie) of this earlier this year and was lukewarm on it, but the manga is a much better experience. It’s a sad sci-fi romance, but it’s worth the hour it took me to read it.

  • Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine – As I said above, I’m doing a bit of a binge. I initially thought they sent me the first two books and that third was the one coming out in July…yeah…Then I realized I had not 2 but 4 books to read in a month and a lot of internal screaming occurred. I imagine I will enjoy these those so I’m not too upset.
  • The Shining by Stephen King – This is my third King read for our #Losersclub group on Litsy and so far it’s pretty enjoyable. It’s definitely different from Salem’s Lot and Rage, but it’s definitely creepy and I love seeing the moments of anger seep in slowly.

The Library of Alexandra thing sounds really cool, I need to read those books at some point.

  2. Andreea P. says:

I saw Voices of a Distant Star and loved it! I need to look for the manga too!

  3. I want to read Dr. Sleep and most people told me that watching The Shining movie was enough to understand what’s going on in Dr. Sleep, but a couple of people told me no. I will be interested to see how different you think it is from the movie. 👍

    Thanks for TMTing. 💜
