Tell Me Tuesday #65

Hosted by La La in the Library

  • The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace – This is a book of poetry that forms a timeline of sorts of Amanda’ personal journey from someone with poor self-image to someone more confident in herself and what she deserves. Like most poetry, it’s sort of hit and miss because of the personal nature, but overall I really enjoyed it. I’ll probably check out the second book when it comes out.
  • The Toms of Atuan by Ursula K. Le Guin – This one was much better than the first. It’s a little more closed off than the previous book, but it has a different tone. It does take forever to get to the point though.

Currently Reading

  • The Geeky Chef Cookbook – Fun fact…I don’t cook. I don’t like cooking. Yet for some unexplainable reason, I adore cookbooks, especially geeky ones. This has a lot of fun recipes in it that I might attempt at some point in the future. I’m only about halfway through it.
  • The Farthest Shore by Ursula K. Le Guin – I just started this one and I’m not sure how it’s going to go.
  • The Book of Lost Tales Part One by J.R.R. Tolkien – These are the precursor stories to the Silmarillion and the like. It sort of showcases his inspiration in fairy tales and shows how much of it changed over time to become the middle earth we know.

  • Still playing Xbox and have racked up quite a few achievements. I’ve gained at least one achievement a day, for 52 days. Its been a lot of fun to fully complete the games I have.

  1. Greg says:

I remember reading Earthsea as a kid and not loving it exactly? I wonder how it would read now for me. I did like her Planet of Exile though, although it would just be a novella probably by today’s standards and is a pretty straightforward adventure story… but I liked it. Other than that I haven’t read a lot of LeGuin I guess?

  2. I love cookbooks, too! Thank goodness I can get them as ebooks now. Ha ha. They can start taking up a lot of space. 🍜

I am getting closer to maybe reading the first Earthsea book again. 📚

    Thanks for TMTing! 💜
