Sunday Post #287

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Happy Sunday everyone! This week was a better one mood-wise for me. We went to see Black Panther Friday night with our best friend and absolutely loved it. If you haven’t seen it yet, I really recommend it even if you’re not a Marvel movie fan. It’s a good action film regardless of the existing Marvel universe, and you don’t have to see all the previous movies to understand or enjoy it.

I’m going on about three months without caffeine, and while I know I’m still dealing with withdrawal symptoms, it feels nice. I’m also attempting to cut back severely on my dairy intake. I’m allergic to it, though I’ve never been particularly good about avoiding it. Like have you tried to find something that isn’t coated in cheese? It’s surprisingly difficult.

And update on my Xbox obsession. I’m still continuing my achievement streak (at least one earned each day), and I’m currently at day 44 with 361 earned in that period. If I had the proper equipment and space I’d consider making a gaming channel and start a stream.

Yay for Black Panther! I think it’s one of the better MArvel movies too. Congrats on going caffeine free! I have a hard time with cheese- I love the stuff so even though I try to eat less of it, it’s tough.

Wow go you on Xbox! 🙂

    • Just trying to find something quick to eat is now a challenge. Everything has cheese on it or in it. Normally this is far from a problem, but my stomach is finally calling it quits, so I’m stuck reading labels and finding new things to eat.

Black Panther is definitely up there! It really feels like a completely different experience. I can tell it’s still Marvel, but it seemed to have more depth and more effort put into building the world and its people than the other films.

  2. I couldn’t give up cheese. I swear I’d die.
Giving up caffeine completely may actually kill me also… I can cut down to extremely little, I had to when I was pregnant, but I’ve never been able to quit completely.

    • I might die if I don’t give it up, lol. Well..maybe. I’ve had 20 years to get my fill I guess. All of my favorite foods involve milk in some way be it ice cream, something coated in cheese or chocolate. It’s going to be rough.

As for caffeine, I weaned myself off of it over a period of several months. I cut back a little each week until finally, I stopped. The withdrawals can absolutely suck, depending on the level of addiction and body, but I find it was easy to deal with a little at a time. I was down two to three coke’s each day as well as a coffee every morning. I feel loads better, but I definitely miss it. I’m always tired now, which completely sucks.

Oooo a cookbook… I am riding out the storm that took out our power at a friends. So surreal looking at all the downed trees and power lines cut in half. They say we won’t have power to our area till Wednesday!! Have a good Sunday!

  4. I haven’t seen Black Panther yet, but I’m eager to as soon as I can find someone to watch the kiddos while we’re gone. My sister and nephew went to it, and they hated it. Though I suspect more that my sister hated it, and my nephew just hated being stuck in a theater with someone who was complaining about the movie. lol.

  5. Sebastian just assembled and bought an expensive computer for gaming… I wonder if that is what he has in mind. I hope not, he needs to get his a$s back to university. 😒

I keep waiting for The Geeky Chef to go on ebook sale. How are you liking the Earthsea books? 📚

Happy to hear you had a better week! Here’s to an even better one this week. 💜

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
