Tell Me Tuesday #60

So you won’t believe what crazy thing happened yesterday! I finished a book! I finished an audiobook that was less than 3 hours long in two weeks! *blows on fingertips*

Last Read

Binti

  • Binti by Nnedi Okorafor – This turned out to be a fantastic listen! It’s a relatively short book but it’s written beautifully and the world building is rich and handled with such care that it’s actually impressive that the book is as quick as it is. We definitely need more writers like Okorafor!

Currently Reading

  • Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle Earth by J.R.R Tolkien – We are finishing this one up today! I don’t think we are continuing forward with any other Tolkien book after this, at least for some time. I think we all need a break after 9 straight books.
  • The Color Purple by Alice Walker – I started this one a whim while at work yesterday since I needed something that wasn’t sci-fi or fantasy…and I don’t have a ton of those. I tried to read this a year ago but just wasn’t in the right mood for a hard-hitting novel.

  1. Nine Tolkien books?! That’s a marathon! Ha ha. I am hoping to get to an Alice Walker book before the end of the month. I have quite a few. I was thinking about doing a re-read of The Color Purple, but I will more likely try another of her books. Thanks for TMTing and yay for breaking your slump. 💜

    • It is indeed! I suppose it’s more 8.5 because the Tom Bombadil stories are part of a larger book. It looks like the group will journey on and we’ll finish off that book of stories and then move to The Lost Tales Part 1…We always say we’re finishing up and then we do, get really sad that it’s over and decide to continue with a new one.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
