Still not a ton of reading happening on my end unfortunately. Unfortunately, while hitting low points mentally I cycle through obesseive moods. Last year I spent it binging anime and reading manga, I wanted nothing else. The year before, it was movies. Now it’s video games. I can’t focus on anything except whatever I’m obessing over, nothing really holds my interest for long either. So reading has mostly been moved to days at work where I’m not too stressed out.
Current Reads
- Binti by Nnedi Okorafor – So far this one is quite good! It kind of makes me wonder when the last time I read a sci-fi novel that has a basis in a different culture altogether.
- Unfinished Tales by J.R.R Tolkien – We have hit the Third Age and just learned of Isildur’s last days with the ring. This week we will stay in the Third Age and learn such things like the Hunt for the Ring (prior to Bilbo’s possession) and The Battles of the Fords of Isen.
Other Updates
I’m still on achievement hunting and use True Achievements to track everything.
Finished: Broken Sword 5! I hit 100% on everything with this one at the end of last week. It was quite fun, and it has a lot of quirk to it. I wish the other games were on xbox I’d really love to play them all on one system.
Currently Playing: Monster Hunter World – I love this game so far! It has some issues, but I love being able to track, trap and hunt down huge monsters. It’s even better with a group. It requires that you pay attention to its behavior as you hunt it and act accordingly. You can even use the environment to help you take it down.
Submerged – This is a quiet game that is more story-based exploration than anything else. There isn’t a lot to it really, but it’s a nice downtime game to pass the time without any stress. It’s quite pretty as well.
Monster Hunter World sounds like fun! And you’re getting to my favorite parts of Unfinished Tales.
Hope you’re having a good week.
I wonder if Baz and his friends have heard of Monster Hunter World? They play Doto2 as a group all the time. I am still loving loving the Binti cover. Thanks for TMTing! 💜
