Happy Halloween!!
Finished
- Battlefront II: Inferno Squad by Christie Golden – I finally finished this one and it was quite good! I love the Imperial perspective and the fact that we get yet another female badass as the main character (several really).
- Realms of Tolkien: Images of Middle Earth – This is more of an art book that pulls a bunch of different artists visions of scenes from the Middle Earth novels. It’s quite pretty and there are some seriously stunning pieces of art in here
- A Journey Through a History of Magic – This was quite a cool little book! It is an accompaniment to the British Library Exhibition and it has some neat info both about the world of Harry Potter and of ‘magic’ in the real world throughout history. It’s full of images and excerpts.
Currently Reading
- Washington by Ron Chernow – This is a part of a challenge to read at least one biography/memoir for every US president. I plan to type up a intro post to it at some point, I just have to finish the page I’ve created for it as well. So far this book is really interesting, dear ol’ George sounds like a fellow Slytherin. (everyone says Gryffindor, but he clawed his way to a high social standing and though he was in fact very brave he also had a drive to constantly improve)
- The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien – We just started this one on Sunday! We are now in the meat of the Middle Earth mythos! It’ll be interesting to see how many drop out of the readalong for this one.
- What We See in the Stars – This has some stunning artwork and it always fun to learn about the sky.
Happy Halloween! Oh cool, you’re reading Washington by Ron Chernow. I want to read that one. I’m reading Wahington and Hamilton by Stephen Knott right now.
It’s really good so far and it reads really well so it doesn’t feel as huge as it really is.
I can’t wait to get my hands on A Journey Through a History of Magic. All the pics I’ve seen on IG look fab.
It’s really cool! I would love to see the exhibit
I love the cover of Realms of Tolkien! If I see that Harry Potter book on Book Outlet, I am going to get one. I will be watching out for what you think of The Silmarillion. I have that in hardcover somewhere. Thanks for TMTing! I Facebooked you earlier and I will get you tweeted and G+’ed, now. Happy Halloween. 🎃
Fingers crossed for you finding it on Outlet! I’ll be reading The Silmarillion for several weeks so you’ll definitely see some updates on it through out the month.
