Last Read
- The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien – Goodreads – The second book of our #LotrChapteraDay read along is now finished! I had forgotten how good Fellowship is, or rather I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed the actual act of reading it.
- Not Pictured: Liar Game Vol. 1 (Goodreads – Good story, decent art, but kind of boring characters). Distopia (Goodreads – Everyone knows I love Virtual Reality stories by now, but most don’t know I actually enjoy Dating Sims as well. This is a sweet little combination of the two.)
Current Reads
- Women in Sports: 50 Fearless Athletes Who Played to Win by Rachel Ignotofsky – Goodreads – This is my latest Blogging for Books pick! I wanted the Women in Science book they had months ago but wasn’t quick enough. So I snagged this one as soon as I saw it.
- Battlefront II: Inferno Squad by Christie Golden – Goodreads – My current buddy read with my boyfriend. So far it’s pretty good.
- The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien – Goodreads – We started this one yesterday! This is for the #lotrChapteraDay read along on Litsy, and is a re-read for me!
Up Next
I’m not sure what I’ll be reading next week. I’m sort of drowning in books I’m actually reading right now, so I doubt it will be too much different from this week’s or last week’s current reads.
Ooh Lord of the Rings is always a good thing! Fellowship has over the years become my favorite I think, although I like elements of Return of the King a lot too.
I’ve never read Return. I think I needed a break from the series because I read Fellowship and Towers back to back, and after waiting to get a copy of Return I just kept putting it off until I never got around to it. The con of having a sponge like memory for fandom info is that I know most things that occur in the series already, so the desire to ‘revisit’ that info is fleeting. But it’s been a lot of fun so far, and I’m glad I decided to do the read-along.
I am itching to re-read The Hobbit and the LOtR books. I have decided on no ARCs next year, so that might actually be doable. Thanks for mentioning your buddy reads with your boyfriend because it gave me the idea to ask my son if he would buddy read a Vonnegut with me for my November Vonnegut read-a-thon. He said yes, but he gets to pick the book and I have to buy it for him in paperback. Ha ha. My TMT is finally up. Blogger was being a #&$@?. You are linked and I am going to tweet and G+ you now. Thanks for TMTing!
You’re welcome! That read along should be fun! I haven’t read a Vonnegut novel yet. Not having any ARCs really frees up so much time, I almost don’t miss them.
