Sunday Post (229)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~ It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

So this week was complete crap. The Dumpster Fire of an election occurred and now the lingering negativity from said dumpster fire is taking over my facebook feed and really really making me dislike some people who are getting aggressive with friends and family for no reason. I’ve had a migraine for most of the week, accompanied by nausea and isn’t helped by the anxiety. A great uncle of mine passed away on Wednesday.. I have a lot of feelings right now, so I’m trying to channel them into positive things. I bought a bunch of thick socks, hats, and gloves to donate to a charity giving them to refugees and I plan to send those off on Monday. (This is an effort the Hogwarts Running Club is currently doing within the group itself <3)

RP Night Again! Last Sunday my character fought another match in the tourney and came out victorious. We finally found the guy responsible for the tavern blowing up and then he died horribly (not our fault). We squared off with the cult leader behind everything and two of his minions, and none of them walked away from the encounter…Though I think the leader was supposed to get away, judging by the kind of shocked look of our game master. Tonight we should be trying to figure out what the cult was up to (probably should have left someone alive…oops), where the rest of the missing explosive powder is, and probably do the last fights of the tourney.

Dumpster fire is right- I was wondering what the frick country I was in Tues night lol. But I won’t g there. Hope you’re feeling better… and that is so cool you gave to refugees, nice that someone is DOING something to help others. Go you.

Love RP wrap ups, always fun to hear how others’ games are going! “should have left someone alive…oops” ha ha. Sometimes NPC’s die so inconveniently! I always like a good cult…

    • This whole process has been baffling from beginning to end. I figured I could sit around and be angry or I could channel it into something else, and the HRC is always doing something so I started there. I felt loads better after just buying the stuff, and I’m super excited to send it out!

We almost died in that cult fight, but when we saw the DM squirming trying to get the leader away we just went for it. And with a very lucky set of rolls managed to pull it off.

So much of our country is at odds, and I find that more heartbreaking than anything to do with the election. I just hope that we can all find some common ground and focus on that.

  3. I’m sure some are going to be warmer because of your thoughts and efforts. 🙂

    • I really hope so! The Hogwarts Running Club is an amazing group and it’s awesome to just be a part of something that pulls people together for things like this. Most of us have never even met but we’re all getting together in chat rooms and planning out what we’re going to buy and send out, and it’s been a really lovely experience. I’ll definitely be posting the final updates for what we sent out as a whole when it’s available.

My response to the election was to walk around in utter shock for two days and then go on an intentuonal facebook “fast”, which isn’t easy because I can’t share stuff. Tonight might be an interesting interview with “Chump” since they intentionally chose Lesley Stall as the interviewer, and he HATES Stall.

    • At this point everything is interesting, because I feel like I’m living in some mirror world right now. I’ll definitely be watching it though. And I don’t blame you for taking a break from FB, it’s been pretty volatile on there and I’ve been avoiding most of it.

  5. (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) Watching the election results was like being in an episode of the Twiight Zone. All I have wanted to do is sleep. Facebook is still a nightmare, maybe even worse because now some of my liberal friends are saying maybe he won’t be too bad. Ugh. Disgusting. It is wonderful you channeled your anger into giving. 💜💚💛💙

I am sorry to hear about your great uncle. Extra hugs. 💗

Your RP senerios are insane. Ha ha. I love hearing about them each week. Thank goodness for creative distractions. Have a wonderful and peaceful week.

  6. Deborah says:

Oh yes, the fallout from the election is being felt even here in Australia with differing opinions on the result AND what’s been happening after. Sigh.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
