Sunday Post (215)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~ It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

It’s been a long week. My niece, Mia, was born yesterday morning (1:40 am) so I spent most of Friday and Saturday at the hospital and ended up taking both days off because sleep was needed so badly. I avoid children as much as possibly, but she’s so quiet and curious that I don’t mind her and even held her for a while.

The Olympics started! NBC sucks always…actually a bit worse this year so far, but I’m enjoying seeing some of the events when I could between long sleeps. I’m also developing a cough so I might be getting bronchitis.

Books Read

  • Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne
  • Shutter by Courtney Alameda
  • Rooms by Lauren Oliver
  • Silk Vol. 0 – Life and Times of Cindy Moon (Graphic Novel)

  1. Greg says:

Yay for The Invisible Library, I thought it was pretty good. Hope you don’t get bronchitis… there’s been stuff going around here. I’ve been trying to watch the Olympics… in spite of NBC’s coverage lol.

  2. AWWWWWWW a baby! Congrats to the new parents and auntie. 😀 I think we’re all in agreement NBC sucks. Hope you don’t get sick, Michelle. And hope you love The Fireman. Have a great week!

    • Yeah, I haven’t seen anyone who actually likes NBC coverage yet. It just sucks knowing they have the rights until 2020. I’m already pissed off at the amount of commercials I’m going to have to put up with in 2018 and 2020. 😀
So far I am really enjoying The Fireman!

  3. Congrats Auntie! I’m reading The Invisible Library this week too, it’s a little outside my comfort zone but I am enjoying it. Just not loving it.

  4. Congratulations on the birth of your niece! AND all the new books. Great choices! Hope you will have a great week in reading AND spending time with the new family member. Here’s my Sunday Post: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/08/the-sunday-post-07-august-2016.html

  5. Mia will grow on you; I guarantee! Just hold her and smell the top of her head. It is the best calmative ever. It is too bad they can’t bottle it. And congratulations! I was going to watch the Olympic opening ceremony on YouTube, after the fact, but most everyone said it sucked so I didn’t bother. I like to watch gymnastics and diving in the summer Olympics. Have a stellar week, auntie!

    • I don’t know that the opening sucked really. They had a really small budget because of how much economic turmoil the country is actually in right now, so I think they did a good job capturing the history and spirit of Rio. It was simple, but it was honest. The commentators suck though, they do every year but somehow they get worse every Olympics. I just wish they would pick cities that can handle the financial burden of the Olympics WITHOUT trampling on the citizens in the process.
I do love her…but I find that I have very little in the way of maternal instinct when it comes to babies, it just doesn’t come naturally to me at all. So I’m hoping extremely hard that I’m never asked to babysit without my mom being nearby because that would be the worst kind of hell for me.

  6. The Invisible Library was good. I think you’ll enjoy it. I haven’t watched any of the Olympics yet but the consensus seems to be that NBC’s coverage is craptastic, 😦

Congrats on the birth of your niece! That’s wonderful. 🙂

Have a good week and happy reading!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
