Sunday Post (214)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~ It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I finally got my drive to read back this week! I’m not sure how long it’ll last so I’m taking the opportunity to read a few books that have been on my shelf for a while. I’m trying to get rid of some older stuff I no longer want. The geek stuff and books will go to 2nd & Charles for store credit (Harry Potter stuff here I come!) and I have a few things ready for donations as well. What should I do with my ARCs? I can’t really afford to pay for shipping on all of them, so giveaways are out unless someone wishes to pay the postage themselves. I don’t want to toss them into the recycling bin, and I don’t have many donation options in the same area.

Cursed Child comes out this weekend!! I won’t be getting it for a while thanks to B&N’s ridiculous shipping time, but I’m still re-reading the series so I suppose I’ll be fine for now.

Did you see the news about Brie Larson as Capt. Marvel? I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything but the pic I saw of her in costume- she looked like a good fit for the part. And I guess avengers Infinity War is going to be just one movie now, not two… lots of comic news this week. 🙂

    Have a good week.

    • Yes I did! I was hoping for Katee Sackoff but Brie Larson should be a good fit too. I’ve only seen her in Scott Pilgrim, she was Envy Adams. But I’ve heard amazing things about her in Room. And I just saw the Infinity War news as well. I’m ready for another movie now though.

  2. Yay for getting your reading groove back. Hmm … I’m not sure about your ARCs. I used to always give mine to certain people in my life. Aww, hope you get Cursed Child soon. Maybe it’ll show up earlier than expected. Have a great week, Michelle.

Is your header new? Or perhaps it’s been like that a few weeks and I’ve missed it! It looks good anyway.

Yay for finding your reading Mojo!

I occasionally send review copies of books to friends etc but it does get expensive. I donate them to a local hospital as well and to a women’s shelter, but I do have a few friends who often read them first!

  4. Yay glad you are reading again. I have the new Potter book arriving tomorrow and I am hoping I can devour it before vacation. Hope your week is amazing!!!

I would pay shipping on ARC’s depending on what they were. Yeah for getting your reading drive back. Sounds like you are also getting really organized, that’s always good.

  6. Where have I seen The Book Of Life before? Hmm… is it on my tbr? I will have to check. I am reading TCC right now and I was loving it and then BOOM it got kind of hokey. I hope it rallys itself for a good finish because JKR is saying that this is it for the Harry friends and family storyline, but then again she said that after The Deathly Hallows, too. Ha! Happy to hear you are reading again. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

  7. I’ve seen several bloggers charge the fees for shipping ARCs. All the books are listed in a post with prices (grouped by 1 book, 3 books, 5 books, and 8 books) and bloggers contact the seller for confirming what they want is available and pay through PayPal.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
