Sunday Post (208)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~ It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week was so hectic. Since I don’t drive I get rides to work, and on certain days I get there really early and end up napping on the floor…which is about as comfortable as it sounds, and my back and hip are a mess right now. I feel about 25 going on 90 right now. Speaking of 90’s, that’s what GA weather is going to look like for the next week.I’m torn. I adore the heat, but the humidity is terrible. Since everything is so hectic I haven’t been reading like I want to but I keep starting books like there is no tomorrow…

I had memorial service on Friday for my boyfriend’s grandfather, and a baby shower for my brother’s girlfriend on Saturday. I had to close both days since both things took place smack-dab in the middle of the day, but I needed the break…even if I had to go from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other in 48 hours. I’m exhausted though…

Sounds like a rough week- hope this one is better. And sorry to hear about your boyfriend’s Grandfather.

I like the sun and heat but yeah humidity sucks, and I’m sure it’s a lot worse there. And I need to see Zootopia!

  2. Deborah says:

Isn’t it funny how much we look forward to a season but when it arrives we want it gone! I’m like that about winter, though it doesn’t get too cold where I live so it’s okay.

And ugh… sleeping on the floor at work doesn’t sound like much fun!

  3. Nick says:

I’m sadly not a heat person so the sound of 90s weather is enough to make me cranky! I’m sorry about the having to get to work early. I wish there was some other option you could have. :/
I’m very curious about America’s Next Daughter. In a Dark Dark Wood is one I also need to check out!
I hope this week is better for you. Happy reading and take care!

  4. Ooo you need a cot at the shop. Sorry about your boyfriend’s loss. Humidity sucks..that. is. all. LOL Hope it cools down for you soon!

  5. Doesn’t sound like either of those days was much of a break though! Could you get a blow up mattress to keep in the shop, sleeping on the floor sounds so painful. And you got In A Dark Dark Wood, I’m dying to read that one, hope you enjoy.

    • They really weren’t…it was good to have some time away from the store though, even if I did end up just as tired at the end of the day. I have a cot now since the blow mattresses were on the expensive side and it’s much better than the floor. I really hope it’s as good as I’ve been hearing it is, I need a good thriller right now!

  6. It definitely sounds like a rough week. I hope you can get some rest now.
‘In a Dark, Dark Wood’ sounds interesting.
Have a great week and happy reading! 😉

  7. Ugh, I hate humidity. I live near a river and tne humidity is always high here. That was one thing I loved about Colorado; low humidity. That is why I chuckle when people from Arizona complain anboiut 110 degrees because it is dry heat. I totally forgot to add I’ll Give You the Sun to my Sunday Post. I will have to fix that. You should get a Blow up mattress for the store with a battery operated air pump. Not the greatest, but better than the hard floor. Do you have room for a couch? Have a wonderful week. 🙂

    • We both live near lakes, so the humidity in our neighborhoods is a lot higher than the surrounding areas and it sucks. I love dry heat, I could melt happily in 100 degree weather if it were dry heat.
We were going to get a mattress but they are somewhat expensive, and we just didn’t have the money for it, and there is no room for anything bigger. So I now have a camping cot. It’s not the most comfortable, but it’s better than a thinly carpeted concert floor.

  8. Wishing you a much better week than the one that’s past. My mind currently feels very similar to the cover of In a dark dark wood. LOL!

  9. Lillian @ Mom With a Reading Problem says:

Hope this week is much better for you emotionally! My condolences to your boyfriend and his family. Losing a grandparent is never easy. 😦 I just downloaded I’ll Give You the Sun and Zac & Mia through Sync. I’m loving the books from them so far this Summer.
    My Sunday Post

    • Thank you. They are doing well, I suppose it sort of helps that they were somewhat prepared for this moment for some time now and it was a beautiful memorial, so I think it was the closure they all needed.
Sync is awesome this year! I actually already owned quite a few, but I’m excited for those who get to download them free!

  10. Awww…this week sounded rough. I hope things get better for you. Here’s my Sunday Post:

  11. Sorry last week was so hectic, Michelle! I hope this week was much better. I’ve been a very lazy blogger once more, and am only now doing visits…
Have a great weekend and happy reading.
