This week’s topic is…
Surprise zombie apocalypse!
Which three game characters are on your survival team?
Prepare yourself for female awesomeness
Lara Croft from the current Tomb Raider series
I love classic Lara, but the current Lara Croft is perfection. She’s got the survival thing down, it’s not about glory or beating the other guy but instead she runs on pure adrenaline and panic. Plus she’s a team player, is loyal and very protective. So I don’t have to worry about her suddenly deciding that she wants to rule a city or kill a group member because they irritate her. (Also if you want more on her story arc before the next game go grab the Dark Horse comic series by Gail Simone and Rhiannon Prachett).
Samus Aran from Metroid
Zero Suit or Power Suit, Samus Aran is a badass who is very good under pressure. She knows how to survive and how to handle unlikely situations.
Impa from Hyrule Warriors
Impa has two roles in the Zelda games. One is as Zelda’s trusted nursemaid, she’s typically older in games that feature her as such. But on the rare occasion Impa is also Zelda’s bodyguard, in which is a skilled fighter. In Hyrule Warriors she takes on the role of General and is by far my favorite character to use when going against the huge hoards of enemies. Her sword wielding and quick thinking would definitely come in handy, she’s also extremely practical.
I have an odd relationship with GTA games. I get them because I really enjoy driving cars around and making the SWAT really really mad, but I loathe playing the story-lines. So after some debating the boyfriend and I grabbed a copy and we’ve been playing multiplayer missions almost every night and having a blast.
One major problem I have with this one are the outfits for female characters…If you don’t want to look like you’re going to the club, you’re out of luck. My boyfriend has all kinds of cool stuff to wear, meanwhile I struggle to find anything at all. Saints Row definitely has them beat when it comes to customization.
