- Nora from Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick – She was an idiot…enough said
- Rachel Morgan by Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison – I couldn’t get use to the odd flip she did from being a badass to a scardy cat
- Kelsey from Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck – I just didn’t connect with her at all, she was a sweet girl…but I didn’t really feel anything for her.
- Bailey and Sam from Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols – One is rude and the other is manipulative, and I had an issue getting past tht.
- Chloe from Cold Light by Jenn Ashworth – Utterly depressing & really hard to like.
- Braden from On Dublin Street – I don’t like ultra alpha males and that’s exactly what he is.
- Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini – These characters in this were all sort of predictable and see through for me.
- Vance from Bloodwitch by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes – I had a hard time ‘knowing’ the characters in this.
- Everyone from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald – Dear god the people in this book were maddening.
- Side characters in Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – It took me a long time to like this book, and it all had to do with the characters. For a good 50% of the book I had little to no desire to get to know the side characters at all.
You know what is weird and just dawned on me? I had to read The Great Gatsby in high school and I never even thought about things like “clicking” with characters. I think I used to only think about the broad sense of the book as to whether I liked the story as a whole, or disliked it. This feature always gives me an ah-ha moment. 🙂
When I first read it I didn’t think much about it either, but I do about 40% of my connecting after I finish a book. Gatsby is one of those.
Oh man, Nora … yeah. I couldn’t finish the series. -sigh- You speak ill of my Rachel. This shall not go unpunished. Okay, I need sleep. lol
I haven’t bothered with the rest of series either. LOL! I know. I thought of you as soon as I put it on the list. I promise to give her a second try though, I have the second book tucked away somewhere.
*highfive* It’s good to know I’m not the only person who isn’t a fan of The Great Gatsby. It’s so funny seeing Cold Light on your list – Jenn was my Creative Writing tutor at university. ^_^ This is the second time I’ve seen Nora today – I never read Hush, Hush, but I’m guessing she’s going to pop up on a few other people’s lists, too!
That’s actually really cool Jess! Jenn’s writing was definitely fantastic, but I just couldn’t bring myself to connect with the characters.
I haven’t read any of the books on your list, but I have a few of them on TBR, not sure if I want to read them now. LOL
