So in doing this list I realized that Goodreads has taken all the hard work out of it and has little thing on the left hand side of the screen on the “my books’ pages where you can just click and it tells you who you’ve read the most of. So I’ll do a full list without editing out people due to age level or genre. The most being first.
- R.L. Stine – The king of children’s horror. Goosebumps was one of my earliest super long series that I ever tried out. I’ve read 21 of his books.
- Nasuki Takaya – She’s the writer of the manga series Fruits Basket. I’ve read 19 of her books, though I haven’t finished the series yet.
- Katheryn Lasky – The author of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series which I have read all of, so 16 books from her.
- Lemony Snicket – Author of The Series of Unfortunate Events and All the Wrong Questions. I’ve read 15 of his books.
- Charlaine Harris – Author of the Sookie Stackhouse series, and Harper Connelly series. I’ve read 14 of her books.
- L.J. Smith – Author of the Nightworld series and Vampire Diaries series. I’ve read 14 of her books. Loved the Nightworld books, not so much the Vampire Diaries.
- Hiromu Arakawa – Author of the Fullmetal Alchemist series. I’ve read 14 of her books.
- Brian Jacques – Author of the ever awesome Redwall series. I’ve read 14 of his books.
- Lilian Jackson Braun – Author of The Cat Who mystery series, and the reason I love cozy mysteries. I’ve read 12 of her books.
- Anne Rice – Author of the Vampire Chronicles, the Mayfair Witches and more. I’ve read 14 of her books.
We share three authors. Great post!
Check out my TTT.
Thanks Lauren!!
Oh – I missed Anne Rice!! Here’s my list.
I almost forgot about her to when I was doing it by hand, thank goodness for goodreads!
Oooh, great list. I also remembered Redwall but after I’d posted so it was too late. But man, those books were fun, weren’t they? I just remember woodland creatures fighting and eating delicious foods.
RL Stine was on my list too. Hurrah for Goosebumps!

YES! The food *drools a bit*. As a kid I used to dream about the huge feast they would have, lol.
If I could remember all of the R.L. Stine books I read as a kid, he’d totally have been #1 on my list! It’s definitely more than 20 for sure! 😀
I have as steel trap of a mind when it comes to what I’ve read, so I’ve made sure to put them all in goodreads.
I love Brian Jacques’ Redwall books!!

They are so awesome!
Well geepers, you would fit right into my reading family, no problem. My mother has read all of the Cat Who mysteries, and my sister has read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books (actually listened to all of the audiobooks from the library). My son read around ten of the Redwall books, and six or so of the Ga’Hoole stories. I adore Anne Rice’s vampire books. I tried the first Mayfair Witches book and couldn’t get into it. It was about 15 years ago, so maybe I would have a better time of it now. And my son and I, being Full Metal Alchemist anime fans, would probably like the Arakawa books, too. I keep hearing about the Fruits Basket manga, I should probably check it out. I had so many prolific reads of large series as a child that I had to do three categories, in order to be fair to a bunch of current authors, on my Top Five Friday.
I enjoyed the first Mayfair book but I couldn’t get into the second one so I’ve put it off.
