- Winter by Marissa Meyer – This one isn’t out yet, but I need it like I need air! The entire series weaves several fairy tales together for a science fiction thrill ride.
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass – This is a mash up of Beauty and the Beast (my favorite) and fae lore.
- Uprooted by Naomi Novik – Centers around Grimm’s Fairytales and Naomi Novik is a big and well respected name in the fantasy community.
- The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury – Love the summary for this one!
- The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – A retelling of A Thousand and One Nights and has some epic reviews.
- Hero by Aletha Kontis – I loved the first book. I hope you continue this one with the audio since the narrator is amazing.
- Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge – I have the audiobook version of this so I hope to get to it at some point.
I’ve been on a huge retellings kick this summer, so I’ll have to check some of these out! I loved Cruel Beauty and A Court of Thorns and Roses! I hope you like them. You should also check out crimson bound which is a red riding hood retelling. It is also by Rosamund Hodge.
Haven’t heard of The Forbidden Wish but I really like the cover! Good choices!

I cannot wait or Winter, and like you need to read well listen to Hero..I loved book one. I own Maas’s new book..bought it on release day and still need to crack it open
I’ve almost bought it several times but ultimately decided to wait, which I now regret. 😛
I really want Uprooted now that I am beginning to see reviews for it. I was mourning the thought that i didn’t request it on Either Netgalley or Edelweiss because I thought I had seen it on one or the other, but some people are telling me it wasn’t on either. I guess I must have seen ia giveawy for the ARC on First Reads, or something, and confused myself. I do the TTT prompt, but with only five books on Fridays, and I was shocked when I figured out that I have only read five fairytale retellings in total!
