The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Hey guys! This week has been pretty good, though I will admit to being extremely tired and a bit under the weather a bit.. I got a lot of reading done again, and the store is doing pretty good…especially for a week where it rained a lot. I totally haven’t forgotten about my Wreck This Journal, I just haven’t had time to sit down and work on it or think up fun interpretations of the guidelines.
I helped host a facebook party on Friday for We’re Jumpin Books, and that was quite fun. I’m also beginning to plan my blog anniversary event, but I can’t decide what to do.
Question: Should I host two weeks of posts & giveaways from authors for my blog’s anniversary or hold one facebook party?
Books Read:
- A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin (FINALLY!!!!)
- Reign of Blood by Alexia Purdy
- All the Bright Places by Jennifer Nieven
- Bloodkin by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
Last Week
Monday: The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken (Review)
Tuesday: All Time Favorite Authors (Top Ten Tuesday)
Wednesday: Bloodkin by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (Review)
Thursday: Super Dungeon Explore: Forgotten King (Let’s Play – Tabletop Review)
Friday: Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon Starting Post
Book Haul
Purchased
- A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller – I know I borrowed the audiobook last week, but I finally found a copy in Walmart and decided to grab it for my collection
- Heir to the Jedi by Kevin Hearne
I decided to try something new this month, so I signed up for The Fandom of the Month Club!! They feature geeky/bookish jewelry items from specific fandoms each month, and the fandoms are a surprise. I love it! I’m going to post a full review sometime this week.
For Review
- Batgirl Volume 1: The Batgirl of Burnside – EVERYONE!! DC actually approved me for something!
Oh, as for the Facebook party vs posts question… I don’t have many Facebook likers, so I’d suggest host it on your blog and eke it out for the 2 weeks. Of course that could be more work for you and you might have an active FB page, so… feel free to ignore my advice completely! 😉
Aw, hope you’re feeling better. Hmmm … I don’t know about your question. I’m indecisive, so don’t ask me. lol. That fandom box is cool, can’t wait to see what’s inside.
Thanks Christy! Hopefully I’ll have the post up within the next week or so.
Hope you feel better soon. I think you should do your blogoversity over a week or two.

Thank you Megan! I’m think that’s what I’ll do again.
Feel better! It’s never good when you’re not 100% feeling well, it makes you so tired, doesn’t it?
I would do a blogoversity giveaway / party over a week or two at the blog, rather than a Facebook party… but that’s because I, myself, often miss Facebook parties 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead, happy reading!
Thanks! It definitely makes me tired, I’m pretty much useless when I’m tired. Thanks for the help Lexxie.
WOW YOU GOT APPROVED FOR DC THAT IS FREAKING AMAZING! Congrats, and it’s Batman related as well, I totally approve. Hope you recover quickly! I would definitely do a giveaway for your anniversary, depends where you have more of an audience I suppose. Have a lovely week Michelle!
YES!! And thank you! I think I’ll get more participants here on the blog, I just don’t know how many people can I invite to a facebook event. It would either go really well or fail completely, lol.
Fandom of the Month jewelry sounds fun! I look forward to you telling us more about it.
It’s lovely! Hopefully I can get it typed up soon!
Reign of Blood sounds like it will be a good one, hope you enjoy and have a great week!
It was pretty good, not any thing new but entertaining nonetheless
I loved seeing pics of your Fandom box. I like both ideas for your anniversary. Wahoo on the DC approval..I know you danced a little!
I definitely danced!
I checked out the Fandom thing. Still not sure but I’ll probably hop on that train. LOL
As for the anniversary celebration, I’d do it on my blog and Facebook. That’s probably not much help. LOL

Lol, if you like geeky jewelry/accessories it might be worth checking out for a month or two.
Great haul this week! I’ve not heard of The Fandom of the Month club but I may have to sign up for that. I’ve been interested in box subscriptions. Have a good week!

At my age I have too much stuff anyway so I only get Birchbox as my monthly subscription and ask for age defying and hair stuff. When I was your age though, I might have had a blast.
I’m really curious about the Fandom Subscription Box – that’s great you’re loving it.
I do want to read the Batgirl graphic novel. I have difficulty reading them online though, so I can’t really request from Netgalley.

Feel better. Once the sun comes out again maybe it will perk you up! How about having one blog anniversary post and one Facebook party? I prefer blog celebrations because you don’t have to be there at a certain time and date. If it doesn’t fit in your schedule you miss out. I loved your The Darkest Minds review last week and left you some comment love. Have a fab week. 🙂
Hmmhh, I think you should do the giveaways on your blog, that way you get more traffic! Plus the way FB is going, I’m not sure any many views you would get there. Well that’s going by my hits anyway so bring the traffic home and not to FB :O
The fandom box looks great, I wish we could get subscription boxes like that over here.
