Sunday Post (139)

Sunday Post
The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

And January is gone! We are one month closer to being done with winter! This past week as fairly good. I went the Marissa Meyer signing, got in some reading, and enjoyed a fairly calm otherwise uneventful week.

I’m currently cleaning out my shelves a bit and getting some stacks ready to take to the store. I figured it was time for another session of purging because a lot of books I have no intention to read, I just keep saying I’m going to. But let’s face it, no matter how many times someone tells me The Gunslinger is amazing and The Host doesn’t suck like Twilight I’m never going to pick them up.

Question: Are there any topics you would like to see me talk about for a discussion post? It can be anything: questions about my TBR, shelves, what hobbies I do, mental health, bookstore stuff, etc.

#FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

I joined the Fitreaders group for February! I’ve gone through a lot of weight gain in the past year, which is a good thing, and now I just need to build muscle mass. I want to be at 110 before the year is over, I think it’s doable but I won’t disappointed if I’m not. I’m around 1o5 now, so another 5 pounds in hopefully muscle will be awesome. I just want to be at the perfect weight for me.

Here are some cool things I’ll be trying to do this month: 30 Day Butt Lift & 30 Day Flat Abs Challenges  and this awesome Walk around Middle Earth challenge!

The Martian

  • Fairest by Marissa Meyer
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling (US 10th Anniversary Edition)
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (UK/Canadian)
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling (UK/Canadian)
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling (UK/Canadian)

I collect Harry Potter books so I’m starting to buy the international editions now that I own most of the US versions, excluding some really expensive special edition copies. It’s shaping up really nicely, and it’s really cool to see all the different spines next to each other.

  1. Oh I totally forgot I pre-ordered Yep Gunslinger and the Host were both good..but I know exactly what you mean. The Martian looks so good.

    • Lol! So far I’m enjoying it, it’s nice to see what makes Levana tick. And yes, The Martian looks amazing! I’ve read the first chapter and it seems like it’s going to be one of those marathon reads. Yeah, I really do think I’d like the books if I sat down and made myself read them…but who wants to force it, right? If I want to read them I’ll borrow them from the store shelves or the library ;P

I’d love more bookstore info! What people buy, what people ask and the real pros and cons of bookstore owning! Have a great week!

I have books on my shelf I have not got to and it was only recently when I took a look that I was shocked how many- and some that I had forgotten about. Yikes. The book looks good, and The Martian too.

For the first time in my life I have to gain back a couple of pounds. I don;t think it will be hard though. Getting to a great weight for you is a good goal. My Post:

    • My favorite thing about having to gain weight is definitely the eating part, lol. I just have to get a bit better about the exercise. Gaining weight was super hard for me, I had to start medication that helped me.I hope yours comes much easier than that!

  13. lab1990 says:

I love all the different international versions of Harry Potter. I have a couple of the UK ones, so it would be cool to get other ones too.
