Top Ten Tuesday: New To Me Authors of 2014

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

These are not listed in an particular order.

  1. Ben H. Winters – author of The Last Policeman trilogy and gems such as Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters. I read the entire Last Policeman trilogy this year and WOW, one of the best pre-apocalyptic book series I’ve ever started.
  2. George R.R. Martin – author of the a Song of Ice and Fire series. I can’t believe I took so long to read these considering how much of a epic fantasy buff I am. SOOO good!
  3. Jamie Grey – author of The Star Thief and Ultraviolet Catastrophe. The Star Thief is one of my favorite books this year and has made me a fan of Jamie Grey! I have Ultraviolet on my shelf right now waiting to be read and I’m going to grab book two to the Star Thief very soon.
  4. M. Clarke  (Mary Ting) – author of My Clarity and Something Great. I read My Clarity earlier this year, even bought it on release day which is really rare for me. It was a pure knee-jerk decision and I’m  so glad I made it. Can’t wait to read Something Great.
  5. Gail Simone – comic book writer of Tomb Raider: Season of the Witch & Red Sonja (also Batgirl & many many others). I’m a Simone fangirl now. I’ve read the first volume of Red Sonja and issues of the latest Tomb Raider run, and they are so good! She has another series coming out, that’s going to have Nightwing in it so I’m definitely going to be reading that too.
  6. Dan Slott – comic book writer for Superior Spiderman. This storyline is epic and so well written. I loved seeing Doc Ock’s spin on Spidey.
  7. Christina Mercer – author of Honey Queen & Arrow of the Mist. Honey Queen was so fantastic! I have both Arrow of the Mist & Arms of Anu ready to be read on my MG shelf.
  8. Steven Montano – author of City of Scars and Blood Skies. I’ve read both City of Scars and Blood Skies, and really enjoyed them. Now I need to get around to the rest of both of the series!
  9. Chelsea Sterling – author of Quickbane. I haven’t actually finished Quickbane yet, but I’m really loving it!
  10. Misty Provencer – author of Hale Maree, Cornerstone, & The Fly House. I haven’t finished Cornerstone yet, but like Quickbane I’m really digging it! Plus I have Fly House ready to go on my shelf.
