I don’t really do many product reviews here on the blog, but I figured that it would be a good place to share the bookish items I buy or items I receive from the site Influenster for review. These will probably be infrequent, so those that hate product review don’t worry!
“This is a sponsored blog post. Influenster provided me with complimentary Victoria’s Secret products to test and review as part of a contest.”
Here is the unboxing video, so you can see everything including the colors I got and the cool extras they sent.
Runaway Sports Bra – Victoria’s Secret
This is a medium support close front sports bra. It’s best if used for moderate-impact sports or workouts, but I’ve done a bit of cardio and quick paced set workouts and it still worked great. There is some padding in this one but not enough to make it uncomfortable or heavy, but there are plenty of other options without padding for those who prefer to go without. The runaway has several areas with a breathable mesh instead of thick fabric which is fantastic because I didn’t feel stifled or too hot, and the fit as a whole was incredibly comfy. The fabric has a moisture wick effect so it keeps you feeling dry, and since it’s performance fabric it’s really stretchy. The zipper part had me a bit worried since I was afraid it would slide down if I didn’t anything too intense, but it actually has a bit of a ‘lock’ to it so it stays in place.
My biggest complaint about sports bras have always been how tight they feel, but I didn’t have a problem with this one at all. Also no uncomfortable uni-chest.
This is $52.50 in stores, but I definitely think it’s worth the money. If you like working out or need to get back into sshape(like I do) go ahead and splurge on a good sports bra. You’re already going to be tired and possibly in pain from the workout you might as well make sure you are supported and comfy throughout it.
Knockout Hot Shorts – Victoria’s Secret
Okay I really hate shorts, so I was a bit dismayed when I opened my box and saw these…they are so tiny looking!! I didn’t post a picture of me wearing the shorts because 1) I’m super freaking pale and I don’t want to blind you and 2) I have issues with my legs being exposed, but you get the idea.
The shorts were actually incredibly well fitting and they didn’t ride up in a way that would have me changing back into my running pants. They were really light and breathable, and they moved well. It also has the bodywick fabric so you stay dry and comfy the whole time. There is a hidden drawstring in the inside of the waistband that you just pull if you need the shorts tighter and it stays out of the way. There are also little drawstrings on the sides where the fabric is ruched, that you can pull as well…but I honestly didn’t want them any shorter so I left those a lone.
Would I personally buy these for $32? Probably not, but only because I loathe wearing short. I will admit that these were incredibly well made and definitely cute, but I hide behind fabric on my most confident days. That being said if you love wearing shorts to work out in, then yes I totally recommend them!
Thanks for sharing! I really do like product reviews. 🙂 Both of these sound great, though I don’t wear short shorts either. I’m glad that both leave you feeling pretty dry though. I could definitely use that, especially for dance.
