Sunday Post (91)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

So I think I’ve hit my first lazy streak this year. I haven’t been able to get myself to do anything more than a few posts…I’ll get to it though. So as most of you know this was the week of the south being thrown into panic because of the snow, though actually it was mostly ice once it hit the roads. So we ended up with people stuck in their cars for 10+ hours. My dad was out there for 20, before he managed to get home. The bad thing is…it looks like we might get more snow soon. Hopefully DOT will actually do what they promised this time.

In other news I wont be able to go to BEA this year but I’m seeing about going to UtopYA in Nashville instead. It’s closer and it doesn’t require as much money.

  1. I really need to read A Game of Thrones. I was watching the was cray-cray there. I am so glad your Dad is home and safe. Hope your slump passes 🙂

  2. Christy says:

Yeah, the news was talking about your ice and our drought. Crazy. Hopefully no one will get stuck out there like that again. You got a really nice library haul. I should check our library, I haven’t been there in …. 7+ years. It used to suck, but I know they renovated it not to long ago. Annnnyway, have a great week. It’s okay to be lazy sometimes. 🙂

  3. Greg says:

We heard about the ice down there too, feel bad for all the people who got stuck on the highways. 20 hours! Man, that’s crazy.

Nice book haul, lots of Star Wars goodness this week!

  4. I went and looked up UtopYA to see if it was any cheaper for me- I would have a place to stay and event ticket paid for for BEA.. but the flight is just too much – Unfortunately UtopYA would be about the same price for me 😦 I think I get to go to a big event in L.A. in April! * crosses fingers ** But.. this year other events are out for me.. SLOWLY getting to the point where they are a possibility! I hope the snow clears up for you – and everyone else of course- It’s just gotta be crazyness down there and i wouldn’t wish it on anyone! I will be visiting more of your posts from last week tomorrow 🙂 — tonight I’m a bit too sleepy haha, and last week was madness for me! Sorry I didn’t visit more! I’ve never gotten into the Star Wars Books- Though I loved the movies..
Game of thrones is really intense o.O I have read a couple of them.. but there are SO MANY POVs that It takes me awhile to get through them and I fell in love with the actors for the TV show too much I think lol.. oops!

    • Nashvlle is within driving distance and doesn’t have insane traffic like NYC does, so taking our car wouldn’t be a big deal. Then I won’t have to ship books home either. I’d much rather go to BEA but I can’t pay for a flight, hotel, event icket, AND book shipping. I’m looking forward to getting into GoT more, I know not to get attached to anyone though…I’m pretty sure everyone I’m going to read about is going to be dead later. 😛

  5. I bought Game of Thrones last year to read too but still haven’t got to it. Someday :O
Hopefully UtopYA will work out for you. I was really hoping to make BEA happen but it’s not possible this year but someday I will get there!

  6. For some reason I haven’t been keeping up as much with my blog too, think at the start of the year I mentally decided that I would get more things done that weren’t just about blogging and reading. Stay safe in the icy weather, that sounds really extreme and totally out of my world lol (the weather in my city is pretty much like Florida)

  7. Vilia says:

UtopYA sounds cool. We don’t get a lot of conventions big reading conventions in Australia so I get jealous when I hear of what is out there.

  8. redizabzh says:

    Shakespeare’s star wars ?!!! I didn’t know that existed, lol !

  9. Colletta says:

Your poor Dad! I bet you were worried sick! Here’s my Sunday Post:

  10. Michelle says:

Oh, A Game of Thrones! I’ve seen many reviews on the Blogosphere on the series. Hope you’ll enjoy reading it!

  11. Slumps suck!!! Everyone holds high goals for themselves in regards to posting on their blogs. Don’t sweat it – we’ll still be here 🙂 Everyone needs a break! And I soooo had my heart set on going to ALA or BEA but I just did my taxes and we owe, so I can’t see spending frivolous money on the trip. SUCKS!!! I’m so with you on that!!! I hope you get to Nashville!!!!!!!

Buck up!! At least Spring comes sooner for you guys 😀 My Sunday Post

  12. That is awful about being stuck in the storm, it was crazy how bad it was almost everywhere. I don’t want to see anymore snow for at least a week. lol I would love to go UtopYA, it is only a 4 hour drive from my house. Have to see though, we should be moving right about that time. 😦 Enjoy your week.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  13. Solstice looks good, hope you enjoy

  14. Pamela D says:

Enjoy Game of Thrones. I am working my way through the fifth book, and it is quite a good series.

  15. lab1990 says:

Hope you enjoy all your new books! I’ve been a mix of lazy and productive lately. There’s a lot to do, so sometimes the blog stuff gets pushed to the side for a bit.

  16. Angie F. says:

I know I already said this on Instagram, but I’ll be reading Solstice soon, too! I’ve already plucked it off of my shelf! 😀

  17. Impressive book haul! Being a new book blogger, I can now – after 1 month blogging more seriously – understand how much dedication it takes.

  18. Have a great reading week!

    Here is my Sunday Post.

  19. I can’t imagine being stuck in a car for 10+ hours. We don’t have winter in our country but I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad thing. While I don’t want to get stuck in a car for hours, I want to play snow ball fight haha. 😀 Anyway, have a great (despite snowy) week! 😀
    My Sunday Post

  20. I feel your pain. I’m in NC (in the middle by Greensboro) and the snow we got wasn’t too awful, but enough to freak people out. Though I’m from OH so it would never be too bad for me. lol

Yay! Star Wars books! We have a ton of them. 🙂

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
