Top Ten Tuesday: Worlds I Never Want to Live In

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

I actually have a ton of worlds I would never want to step foot in, so I’m just going to put a random list together in no particular order.

  1. Hunger Games Trilogy– I don’t want to live anywhere that thinks a death battle between teens/kids is a proper way to keep rebellion from happening.
  2. Rot & Ruin series – Most of us have an emergency zombie plan, but lets face it nobody actually wants to have to try to survive that. This world is set in a world where zombies are normal but still just as gross and scary, and the humans are usually more dangerous. No thank you…
  3. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy– A world where aliens are trying to kill off the human race…yeah I’ll pass on that too.
  4. Waterproof by Amber Garr  – This is a world where drinkable water is incredibly scarce, and the water that is available comes from a really disgustingly evil place.
  5. Divergent Trilogy – I would have loved this place to begin with but Insurgent and Allegiant kind of killed it for me. Too many conflicts and too many weird secrets.
  6. Parasite by Mira Grant – Okay so parasites seems like a small concern when compared to systematic murder or zombies, but they wig me out and this book is really creepy at times.
  7. The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda – It sucks to be a human in this world…and even the vampires are a little weird.
  8. Gated by Amy Christine Parker – So this is technically the real world but it’s set in what is essentially a cult. Me and cult mentally do not mix, and the scary thing is if I was raised there I might not know that it’s bad.
  9. Dualed by Elsie Chapman – While it seems cool to be trained to fight and kill from a young age, it stops being cool when you have to kill other people who may or may not look exactly like you.
  10. Ashfall Trilogy by Mike Mullin – A post-apocalyptic world created by the (real) super volcano under Yellowstone erupts. I don’t know what’s more scary the fact that Mike Mullin creates something so believable and gritty or the fact that it could literally happen.

  1. You remembered all these ones that would just NOT come to me when I needed them too! Dualed: My other self would probably be the complete opposite of me and kick my a** in seconds.. i’d be a goner o.O.. Gated: oh my goodness I would NOT be able to handle it.. I would always be trying to run away. The Hunt: THE ELBOW THING.. No.. just.. just no. NO. I haven’t read Allegiant yet >.< I DON'T WANNA KNOW!! … But I do want to do Divergent-esk things! Skydiving was an AMAZING experience 🙂 Ashfall… I'm too far away from my family and their farm! They would all live and I would be in the city with NO survival skills… I really need to work on these things… Great choices! 😀

  2. Pamela D says:

The Hunger Games and Parasite are definitely two worlds that I don’t want to live in.

  3. The only world I’ve read about on your list is The Hunger Games world I so wouldn’t want to live in it either though I only read book one. Did you read Battle Royale by Koushun Takami? It makes THG look like paradise lol.

  4. Christy says:

lol – oh gawd, no … definitely NOT The Hunt. *shivers*

  5. tonicate10 says:

Panem is topping all these lists! XD It’s on mine also lol.

  6. Cult stories are so interesting to me, it’s pretty much like a form of brainwashing. Waterproof reminds me of Not a Drop to Drink, even though I haven’t read that one yet. Still haven’t picked up The 5th Wave, I need to! Great picks Michelle, I wouldn’t want to live there either.

  7. I haven’t read most of these but I would NEVER want to live in any of these worlds either!
