Sunday Post (82)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

It’s offically December!! So for those who don’t hang out on Twitter or are not friends with me on Facebook, I totally kicked NaNoWriMo’s butt. I quit about half way through after vacation put me 11k behind, so going into the last week of November I was somewhere between 23-25k behind and some how I did it.

I have a quick question: I’m thinking of doing a book drive for my local library to help them expand their collection, but I’ve never really organized anything like that. So my questions to you are: Do you have any thoughts on how to go about it? If I did this would anyone be willing to donate some like new or good condition books to it? I’m trying to judge if this something worth doing.

Hey, congrats on your NaNo victory! High five. 🙂 That’s awesome coming from behind like that. I did NaNo just as motivation to write more, so even though I didn’t get to 50k it helped me a lot, especially in a busy month. Hope you have a good week.

Waterproof looks interesting by the way.

  2. Yay, for NaNo! I haven’t organized a book drive before, so I wouldn’t know where to start. It is a very good idea. 🙂 Enjoy your week ahead and your new books.

    Thanks for stopping by earlier.

    • Yeah, I’m just kind of stuck on what to do. I feel weird emailing people…so I might just do a post on here and see how it goes. I might see if I can get help from a bigger blog for exposure. I’m not sure yet, but I really want my library to have a better selection.

  3. Holy Cow! You really pulled out some words there. That’s exciting! Way to go! 🙂

I too have a Sunday Post up, if you’d like to stop by…

    Have a great week!

Hell yeah for kicking Nano’s ass. I’ve never put together a book drive, only donated. You could probably tell the librarian what you’d like to do, I bet they’d have some ideas.

  5. Congrats on Nano! I got too caught up with life stuff and didn’t finish, but I think eventually I’ll go back and revisit my novel idea.

I’d talk to the librarian about a book drive. I imagine they’ve done one before, or at least might have some ideas as to how to go about it.

Mind stopping by my Sunday Post/Stacking the Shelves?

    Have a great week!

I can’t wait to read Defy and as for the book drive go for it. See what works and if you decide to do another one then you know what will and won’t work.

    • Yeah, I’m thinking I might. I’m kind of afraid that if I ask the librarians they’ll balk at the idea of doing work (they seem kind like they don’t want to be bothered), so I’m thinking that just showing up with boxes of books to donate makes it easier. 😛

Defy looks really good! Waterproof is new to me- I’ll have to read more about that one.

Woohoo, congrats on all your NaNo success!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
