Truth or Dare (1) – Harley Quinn Edition

Truth or Dare is a weekly meme hosted by Jenna over all Jenna Does Books. It’s a great way to share some bookish tidbits about yourself or take a challenge and try your hand at something a little more daring.

This week since it’s my first one I’m going with

Did you dress as a fictional character this Halloween? Share your photos with us!

Okay so after dealing with some unintentional weight loss and now steady weight gain I’m happy to say that my Harley Quinn costume finally fits! For those who don’t know Harley Quinn is a villain from the Batman universe. She’s spunky, quirky, and really crazy.

I have three Harley Quinn costumes but I chose to go with the Arkham City version this year. I had a few issues so I didn’t have any of the makeup on except the lipstick and I couldn’t find a blond wig…so I just sprayed my hair with colored hair spray.

I even took an old bat we had and spray painted and re-gripped it until it looked like hers. So overall it’s not completely finished but with luck I’ll have a complete costume for a convention next year!

Also I just want to say I’m so excited this costume fits. I’ve had issues with my weight in the past few years and I was deemed anorexic, which kind of surprised me because I adore food and I had no clue that it wasn’t a purely psychological term. So for the past 4 months I’ve been on a high calorie diet and I’m exercising a bit and now I’m having trouble fitting to pants I’ve had for years! I think I’m the only person in the world that’s happy they’re gaining weight, but this feels like such an accomplishment.

So what did you do for Halloween? Are you participating in Truth or Dare, if so please share your post below so I can check it out!

  1. I didn’t but thought about dressing up

  2. Even though you couldn’t do the makeup, it is still a cool costume! I am on the opposite end of the weight spectrum and am now on metformin due to insulin resistance, so I luckily have been losing weight, so I will try to send those lost pounds your way 🙂 My Dare.
