A-Z Book Survey

Jamie at the Perpetual Page-Turner came up with a really cool idea – the A-Z Survey. Which totally took me back to my days in high school where I’d spend hours filling these things out on Myspace. (I know!) I figured since I don’t do a ton of posts that can be considered ‘personal’ I would do this to prove I’m not some weird android or something.  Go check out her post!

Author you’ve read the most books from:

Natsuki Takahashi  and her Fruits Basket manga series. I’ve read 19 out of 23 of them. However if you want actual books then R.L. Stine is at the top with 18 books.

Best Sequel Ever:

This is kind of hard. If the subsequent Harry Potter books count then Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely one of the best. I’m also quite fond of Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice which is book #5 in the Vampire Chronicles.

Currently Reading:

Mind Games by Kiersten White, Pivot Point by Kasie West, and Gen #1

Drink of choice while reading:

I don’t actually have one. I don’t really snack or drink stuff when I read. I really only drink Coke, fruit juices, coffee or tea though.

E-Reader or Physical Book:

Both! But if I have to chose then I’ll go with physical. I love having an actual book in my hands. I also love my Kindle though which has a ton of ebooks on it and I use it to read manuscripts and arcs on it. It’s just more convenient when it comes to traveling around.

Fictional character you probably would have dated in high school:

Um hmm. I’m drawing a blank on characters my age that I would have dated…I tend to fall for the older guys or the ones that have no need for high school because their some supernatural creature, lol.

Glad you gave this book a chance:

Golden by Jessi Kirby. I don’t read a ton of contemporary but this one turned out to be such a fantastic book. I completely recommend it.

Hidden Gem Book:

I have a few:

Important moment in your reading life:

There are a lot: Mom teaching me to read as a toddler, discovering the show Wishbone, discovering Harry Potter in 4th grade, finding Goodreads, starting my blog. Pick one!

Just finished:

This Girl by Colleen Hoover

Kinds of books you won’t read:

I’m really open when it comes to genres and age levels, so the only thing I won’t really touch are religious books. I don’t mean books with angels and gods in them, I mean more of religious based fiction and especially non-fiction. I also don’t like political books.

Longest book you’ve read:

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, 1258 pages

Major book hangover because:

I don’t get them often but here are a few:

Number of bookcases you own:

I personally own three. I have two 4-shelf case and one 5-shelf case. I really need more because I’m doubling up my books (in cases tripling).

One book you have read multiple times:

I don’t re-read a lot and if do it’s always the same books. The one I’ve read the most would be Runaway Ralph by Beverly Cleary.

Preferred place to read:

My bed, it’s pretty comfy.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:

“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.” – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling.

“None of us truly change over time. We only become more fully what we are.” – The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice

I had to do two because I have a ton!

Reading Regret:

I don’t know, I don’t really regret anything! I guess I regret the time I’ve wasted reading crappy books, but at the same time it’s still a book and I still kind of value that time.

Series you started and need to finish (all books in the series are out):

The Redwall Series by Brian Jacques. It’s a 22 book middle grade fantasy series that I adore but I’ve only read 16 of them so far and none of the side books. I started reading them in middle school thanks to a friend and it’s become one of my favorite series.

Three of your All-Time Favorite books:

Unapologectic Fangirl For:

Harry Potter

This is my childhood, teenage years, and early twenties. It took up 13 years of my life with both the books and the movies, it is very much a part of me now. I know character brithdays and family trees. I feel the emotions every single time I read them or watch the movies. I cry for characters (which I don’t do normally) and I hold certain ones in my a special place in my heart.

Very excited for this release more than others:

Kinslayer by Jay Kristoff – I can’t wait!! *dances* I need Yukiko and Buruu!

Worst Bookish Habit:

Hmm this is kind of hard because I don’t really have bad book habits, or I don’t really see anything I do as bad. I don’t bend, dog-ear, or eat directly over my books. I think it would probably have to be that I’m prone to creating random stacks of books on my floor, usually with the ones I’m currently reading. I’ve tripped over books plenty of times and it drives the boyfriend nuts.

X marks the spot – Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

Okay I have three shelves so I’m going to have three here.

Your latest book purchase:

I actually don’t remember my last purchase…it’s been that long. So I’ll go with the one that my boyfriend last purchased for me. The Look of Love by Bella Andre

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book to keep you up WAY late):

Another hard question because I suffer from insomnia…so I’m up all night anyway, lol. I think Insignia by S.J. Kincaid is one that I was glued to all night.

So there you have it! My survery is complete and now I want to see your answers! If you’ve already made a post please link it in the comments and I’ll stop by! If you haven’t done it yet you should! *pokes* Just makes sure you link back to The Perpetual Page Turner
