Sunday Post (36)

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

We are finally in 2013! I hope everyone’s New Year’s treated them well and that the year is off to a pleasant start. So far mine has been uneventful, though that’s not a bad thing. If you’ve noticed the past few weeks have been slower here on the blog, and I admit it’s not just the holiday throwing me off. I’ve been debating on how to handle the blog related stress and I’ve decided that I’m going to take it easy. I’ll still be reviewing books and having memes and such on the blog, but I’m not going to stress over a missed day or not having the book everyone else has. The past year felt like I was working my butt off only to have everything start falling apart in the end, so I’m going to focus on what I want to read and less on what everyone else wants me to.

I don’t think there can be a better haul– Divergent, Masque of the Red Death, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and Under The Never Sky, SQUEEEE!!! I would do anything to read them again, MAJOR LOVE<3

Happy Reading! Need your thoughts ASAP!

    • I’ve read Divergent and Daughter already, I just never got the chance to buy copies of them. They were really awesome though. I’m looking forward to digging into this pile, but sadly they’ll have to wait until after I finish up my review books. They all look so fantastic!

  2. Under the never sky was really good! And I like to buy copies of books I’ve read and loved too. I heard daughter of s &b will be a movie soon. Should be good. Enjoy your books!

I totally hear you about the blog. I’m not worried about empty days, I’d rather enjoy my time reading than so much time worrying about what is or isn’t on the blog. You have a GREAT haul this week. Yay for Under the Never Sky!

  4. Ooo I have had the Farm on my radar and am anxious to here your thoughts. Blogging and reading should be fun, and for you..so do what works best for you hon. I schedule three weeks out, otherwise the stress would get to me too. Have a delightful week! The Sunday Post

  5. I loved Under the Never Sky, but Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of the best books ever! Great book haul this week- enjoy!

Amen to that. Read what you want to read and what you like. :). I’m going to go back to work and I was stressed out how I was going to be able read as much and post. And then I realized that I just can’t stress over it.
I want The Farm soooo bad. I’m definitely going to have to check out Liberty too. Happy reading Enjoy.

  7. I refuse to allow my blog to become a second job; I read for enjoyment…if it is no longer fun then I won’t continue to do it.

    • Well…I’m unemployed so I had the time and the blogging stuff never really consumed a lot time all at once. I was having that problem this year, it became too much like work to pick up a book…so I’m stepping back a bit.

  8. I am glad to hear that you recognize that you need to step back and find a way to enjoy blogging again. I went through that some time ago and ended up not blogging, but now my approach is to do exactly what you are doing, simply enjoy my reading like I always have and make my blog an extension of that, rather than the thing that drives me.
I had mixed feelings about The Farm, so I am looking forward to what you think. I picked up Masque of the Red Death this week too. Love the Barnes and Noble Leather Editions. Enjoy!

    • I had no idea so many other people had the same problem I’m having, so it’s a relief.I love the leather editions too! I’m slowly replacing my old worn classics with them and they look amazing on my shelf right now.

  9. I fully feel your blog stress 🙂 I completely understand how overwhelming running a blog can be, which is why i debated taking on blog help for so long. Now, I’m glad I have it and I’m hoping i can finally focus more on what I really want to read. Enjoy your books! Book Savvy Babe

    • I thought about getting help too, but I don’t think I’m ready to let go just yet. (I’m the kind of person who does all the work in a group project). But I’m so happy that you found a way to help the stress, and it’s awesome that Laurielu agreed. 🙂

  10. Yay for Divergent and Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I completely understand having blog stress, but just taking it easy sounds like a good plan for me.

Check out my IMM & SP.
