What is the one (or maybe two) qualities a book must have for you to pass it along to your best friend as a “must-read”?
For Fiction: The main thing that I have to have is a plot that draws me in. It has to have that “just one more page” factor, where you just keep reading despite the fact that you really should stop. The other quality lies in the characters. It has to have characters that I like reading about and want to know more of. There are some books that I rate with 3 or 4 stars but can have characters that I just want to kick in the face, and because of that they usually don’t get recommended.
For Nonfiction: It must be written a com pealing, rich or unique way. That way it won’t read like a dry text book. It would also be good if it had some sort of emotional value to it, whither that be shock, sadness, jot, etc. If you makes you feel something then it’s worth reading.
